Activity held during: August, 3 weeks

Connecting Ideas of Gandhi and Gandhian

Summary:
The aim of the activity is to make students comprehend the significant contribution of two eminent leaders Mahatma Gandhi of India and Nelson Mandela of South Africa in realm of International Politics.

Details:
The students of 11th standard performed a role play to spread awareness about the significance, relevance and connection between the two legends, Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela. The students of 12th standard presented a musical rendition to pay tribute to both the leaders. The students gathered knowledge about the life history, the nationalist movements led by them and how to apply the same ideology beyond the class room. This activity helped the students to develop analytical skills, creativity and global citizenship. It also inculcated the values of nationalism and love for humanitarian work.

Glowing Grace (Collaborative)

Summary:
Inculcating a sense of responsibility towards health and hygiene among the little ones.

Details:
An interactive session on the theme of glowing grace was organised under the aegis of British Council. The collaborative activity organised for pre-primary students reflected the sense of responsibility and awareness towards health and hygiene, good behavioural and moral values which are to be inculcated at this tender age.

Activity held during: October, 3 Weeks

Down to the roots - Harvest Festivals (Collaborative)

Summary:
Celebrating different harvest festivals across the globe. This activity was very helpful to understand the oneness in the diverse cultures around the world.

Details:
Students of 1st and 2nd standard performed a vegetable rap and the activity was followed by solving worksheet based on different harvest festivals. They made wonderful display boards on the same theme. The 3rd Standard students made very creative posters highlighting the differences and similarities between the various cultures across the globe. The 4th and 5th standard students participated enthusiastically cultural eve which depicted the various dance forms, songs and food habits and stories from across the globe. The Harvest festivals of Sweden, Spain, USA, Indonesia and India was celebrated. This activity was summarised by an engaging and informative group-discussion. The principal appreciated the efforts put in by the students and acknowledged their work by giving them certificates.

Activity held during: November, 3 weeks

Walk through the world of Superstitions

Summary:
The activity was extremely interesting as it helped to unravel the various Superstitions practised in different corners of the world.

Details:
As we all know that superstition has shaped many aspects of the society in different ways. The students of 6th and 7th standard gathered the facts and data on various blind faith that exists in different countries. They referred different books,magazines and internet websites. It was indeed thrilling to see the students performing a research on the topic and then they beautifully presented their work in the form of an interesting skit on the theme during the school assembly. Students of 6th to 8th standards made very attractive and captivating display boards which showcased their detailed research and creativity. Students of 8th standard presented their computer skills through a wonderful Power Point Presentation displayed in school auditorium and this was followed by a group discussion on various myths and taboos that exist.

Activity held during: December & January, 3 weeks

Portrayal of Women Characters in Indian and English Literature.

Summary:
Excellently portrayed the intensity, sincerity, achievements and positivity of women characters expressed by Indian and English authors.

Details:
Students of 6th to 8th standard engaged themselves in extensive research work utilising their winter break about powerfull and inspiring women characters portrayed by eminent English and Indian writers. Students of 6th and 7th performed a wonderful ramp walk dressed as the famous women characters in different novels. They also prepared a highly creative calendar with the trademark dialogues by the women characters in their respective stories. The visitors loby was beautifully decorated by the display boards depicting the theme by the 8th standard students. A talk show was also conducted which helped the students to appreciate the assimilate the virtues of the chosen women characters and build respect towards womanhood.

Activity held during: February & March, 3 weeks

Pandora's Box - Folk tales across the globe (Collaborative)

Summary:
A fruitful cross culture interaction among the partner schools which led to immense learning about cultural and moral values practised.

Details:
Students of 1st and 2nd standard appreciated the folktales by listening and watching. Students of standard 3rd to 5th stretched their imagination and portrayed their artistic skills by drawing famous characters. Students of standard 6th to 8th created impressive posters which highlighted their research work on the same theme. Students of standard 9th to 12th compiled their research work in the form of a Powerpoint presentation which was exchanged with the partner school. The Principal Kamal Rathore applauded the efforts of the students and complimented them for their excellent ideas and creative presentation.

Touropia - Bridges connecting the World (Collaborative)

Summary:
A structural comparison and in-depth research of different bridges across the globe

Details:
A very informative activity which helped the students to learn the modern technologies used in construction of different bridges across the world. Students of standard 6th to 8th were deeply engrossed in watching the videos of the bridges and their structures. This was followed by an open session of questions which enhanced their knowledge on engineering skills and craftmanship of the intellectual minds who constructed such amazing linking structures of the world. The questionnaire prepared by the students enhanced their vocabulary too. Students of 9th to 11th prepared colourful collage of the bridges in groups and the best creation was displayed on the school bulletin board. The involment and research work done by the students was highly appreciated by the Principal Kamal Rathore.
